A self-taught,multi- instrumentalist who began his musical journey on the guitar at age 13. Jay spent many hours in his room as a young boy trying to unlock the secrets of his guitar heroes like Hendrix, Blackmore,Santana, Prince and EVH. Jay made the switch to bass after High School to join a promising local act, Sky Fountain. During this time he became immersed in the music of Motown and 70’s Funk. As bassist, he co-founded the funk cover/original band Felix Brown where he would spend several years playing alongside Keith Harris (Black Eyed Peas/Fergie) and often shared the stage with members of Lettuce and some of Boston’s most talented musicians. Playing with so many talented musicians in Boston’s best clubs on a regular basis, Jay received his true musical education. Jay would later join Zagnutt an original funk rock jam band and co-write several songs on the CD “Garden Variety”. One song “Interstellar was featured on a Relix magazine
